The Intern will be assigned operational responsibilities in addition to special projects designed to expand knowledge within operations management.Key Projects and Responsibilities:• Projects: Interns will be assigned a unique project to work throughout their summer experience. Projects will be tailored to active needs for the business at the time the internship begins as well as aligned to the intern’s skills and background. Projects will feature work involving analytics, operations management and team engagement that make a real impact on today’s business operations at Ashley Furniture.• Safety and Health Standards: Maintain health and safety standards while promoting an inspiring health and safety culture on-site.• Process and Quality Improvement: Lead efforts to develop new processes and improve product quality by collaborating with internal and external customers and suppliers.• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety and Security, IT) to align staffing plans, schedules, and performance levels with business needs.• Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data analysis to identify trends, diagnose issues, and develop actionable insights. Leverage data to make informed decisions and propose efficient business solutions.• Resource Optimization: Optimize resources, including equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials to achieve operational excellence.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree (Rising Senior) or Masters in Business Administration with a major or concentration in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, Engineering or related field.• Graduation Date: Summer 2026• Strong analytical skills with the ability to deep dive into critical business problems.• Strong project management and continuous improvement skills.• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train team members.• Flexibility to work weekends and/or night shifts.• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high level of ambiguity and change.• Customer service orientation and a data-driven mindset.• Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Work Environment: This position is located in an active industrial distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.Pay: $18.00-$21.00/hr DOESchedule: Flexible
