Position Summary
The Frame Mill Supervisor (Operations Supervisor) plans, directs, and assigns work activities in a manufacturing department on 2nd shift. This role leads frontline associates, supports and implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in operation methods, equipment, people, materials, and working conditions. The Supervisor drives safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvements using continuous improvement tools while developing employees through coaching, mentoring, and training to build a high-performing manufacturing team.
Shift & Pay
  • Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 PM – 5:00 AM
  • Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00/hour (DOE)
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
Operations Leadership & Coordination
  • Plan, direct, and assign work activities in the frame mill manufacturing department to meet production targets.
  • Coordinate with other supervision to ensure all operational activities are integrated as a cohesive whole across shifts and departments.
  • Support and implement company policies and procedures while recommending improvements in operation methods, equipment, people, materials, and working conditions.
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing information and evaluating results to optimize production.
  • Communicate product or material issues with appropriate individuals including Quality, Engineering, and Materials Management.
Continuous Improvement & Performance Management
  • Manage and improve functional areas and institute performance measures through use and interpretation of Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Improve working conditions and processes (safety, quality, productivity, and cost) including supporting and directing employees to participate in improvement programs.
  • Assist the functional area Superintendent or Manager to improve systems of production control, standard operating procedures, safety, quality control, and performance management.
  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on frame mill processes and equipment.
Safety & Equipment Management
  • Maintain departmental equipment to ensure proper and safe operations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring employees wear PPE (personal protective equipment) and follow safety compliance.
  • Perform regular safety audits and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately.
  • Promote a safety-first culture throughout the frame mill operations.
Team Leadership & Employee Development
  • Listen, respond to, and address employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, and pay adjustments.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of employees by directing team members to meet the area’s goals.
  • Audit regularly to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to.
  • Manage employee performance and assist employees in making improvements through coaching, mentoring, and administering performance reviews.
  • Recommend, plan, and/or implement employee training and skill development activities.
  • Audit, maintain, and ensure employee time-keeping and absentee records are accurate and comply with company policies.
  • Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
Resource Management
  • Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials.
  • Monitor material flow and coordinate with Materials Management to ensure adequate supply of production materials.
  • Control departmental costs while maintaining production and quality standards.

What You Need (Qualifications)
Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing or distribution center environment
  • Experience with manufacturing or warehouse equipment and department processes
  • Ability to work 2nd shift (Monday – Thursday, 6:30 PM – 5:00 AM)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Physical ability to walk production floors, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Preferred
  • Associate degree in Supervisory Management or related field
  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience
  • Experience in furniture manufacturing, frame mill operations, or related industry
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and production metrics
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety management
Work Environment
This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing facility with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role requires extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety-sensitive operations on the 2nd shift.
