General Atomics Integrated Intelligence is looking for a Project Control Manager to provide support at our Charlottesville, Virginia location.
This position is responsible for managing and actively participating in the daily operations of project control activities for a team supporting specific programs or a business unit. The role focuses on executing established project control processes and contributing to department objectives. Receives assignments based on defined objectives and established processes and provides direction to project control staff according to company policies and management guidance. Administers project control practices, contributes to improvements in procedures and policies, and manages costs related to their team. May be responsible for decisions that have an impact on outcomes within the department or across the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Manages project control activities for assigned programs or a defined business unit to ensure project and department objectives and customer requirements are achieved.
  • Implements, administers, and refines standard procedures for timely and accurate planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting of contracts; recommends changes to processes and guidelines.
  • Provides leadership and direction to project control staff to ensure project control requirements are handled appropriately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies.
  • Represents the business unit as a primary contact with internal customers and supports interactions with external customers; prepares and delivers presentations on project control status and metrics.
  • Manages the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of personnel within the team; recommends and supports programs and procedures to train staff and build capabilities.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to subordinates to accomplish section goals and develop professional skills; may become actively involved to resolve issues and meet schedules.
  • Monitors and helps manage costs related to project control activities for the team; supports budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned programs and contributes input to department financial planning led by senior management.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 9 or more years of progressive project control experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must demonstrate a strong understanding of project control concepts, techniques and standards as well as strong knowledge of various contract types and an understanding of GAAP and FAR rules and regulations.
  • Must be able to organize, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads and staff to meet established milestones and business unit objectives.
  • Must be customer focused and possess the ability to analyze data and relevant factors, interpret results, and develop solutions to a variety of complex issues within the business unit.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to management and other stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and guide professional staff and functional peers.
  • The ability to represent the business unit and support representation of the company on external projects.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • The ability to work on a self initiated basis, manage in a team environment, and work extended hours and
