Job Summary

The Project Manager – Facility Management and Construction is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering capital construction, renovation, infrastructure, and space-improvement projects across the organization from concept through closeout. The role leads scope development, stakeholder alignment, design coordination, procurement support, construction administration, commissioning, and turnover while maintaining strong controls for budget, schedule, quality, and documentation. This position also ensures construction activity in occupied spaces is executed with an emphasis on patient/staff safety, infection prevention planning (including ICRA coordination), and compliance with applicable codes and accreditation expectations.

Job Functions

JOB FUNCTIONS

Project Planning & Execution

  • Lead the full lifecycle of capital construction projects from feasibility through closeout
  • Plan, develop, and manage project schedules, milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, safety, and quality standards
  • Coordinate design efforts, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead and facilitate project meetings, including design reviews, progress updates, and stakeholder briefings
  • Prepare and manage project documentation such as scopes of work, budgets, cost estimates, RFPs, change orders, and status reports
  • Conduct regular field observations to verify progress, identify issues, and drive corrective actions
  • Maintain clear, consistent project communication, meeting cadence, and documentation of decisions and next steps Budget & Financial Management
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking forecasts, commitments, and variances throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project expenditures, review invoices and pay applications, and ensure alignment with contracts and progress
  • Manage change orders and scope changes by evaluating cost, schedule, and operational impacts
  • Identify value?engineering and cost?saving opportunities without compromising safety, compliance, or operations
  • Provide clear budget and schedule updates to leadership, proactively identifying risks and recommending solutions Regulatory Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure project compliance with healthcare codes, including regulatory agencies, state and local building codes, ADA regulations, and infection control requirements.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure proper documentation for projects including Infection Control Risk Assessments, Alternative Life Safety Measures and other construction documentation are completed. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with clinical and operational leaders to ensure project designs align with workflow, patient safety, and experience goals.
  • Coordinate Planning, Design, and Construction with architects, engineers, contractors, and external partners.
  • Provide ongoing project updates to leadership and contribute to strategic facilities planning discussions. Operational Readiness & Transition Planning
  • Support activation planning for renovated or newly constructed spaces, including equipment installation, facility readiness, and staff orientation.
  • Ensure successful project handoff to Facility Operations for ongoing maintenance and support.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or related field required.. Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • . ASHE Certified Healthcare Constructor. . Preferred

Work Experience

  • 4-6 years. 5+ years of progressive experience managing construction projects, preferably within healthcare or a complex, regulated environment.. Preferred
  • 4-6 years. 5+ years experience with capital planning, budgeting, and vendor management.. Preferred
