Virtual Care Nursing

  • Operationalizes technology, supports clinical decision-making processes, continuity of care and patient safety, and provides a work environment conducive for keeping technically competent, experienced and highly educated nurses engaged at the bedside.
  • Provides professional direct patient nursing care to a diverse patient population with collaboration from the bedside nurse through two-way technology and specialized software.
  • Assesses and cares for patients by leveraging video conferencing to complete virtual nursing rounds.

Clinical Practice

  • Provides quality exams and treatment solutions and maintains medical records.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, updates, and communicates plan of care, including discharge, in partnership with the patient, family, and interprofessional health care team.
  • Prioritizes care based on the patient’s needs, abilities, and preferences.
  • Advocates on patient/family’s behalf to identify and resolve clinical and ethical concerns.
  • Assesses unit needs related to practice and improvement opportunities and collaborates to facilitate patient throughput efficiency.

Education

  • Utilizes strong communication skills to provide patient/family education
  • Acts as a resource/coach/mentor for existing staff and new employees.

Communication: . Maintains communication with multidisciplinary team members to provide holistic care to the patient.

Customer Relations: Projects caring, friendly and helpful image to patients and other customers.

Self-Development: Maintains competency by staying informed of changing trends in the nursing practice.

Regulatory Knowledge: Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.

Job Knowledge

  • Must be licensed to practice as a RN in the state of MS
  • Must have ten or more years of experience as a Registered nurse
  • Must complete RN orientation and approved unit specific checklist
  • Must maintain a current AHA CPR Certification
  • Must maintain department requirements for continuing education and any specific unit requirements
