Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs intermediate-level maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment, production machinery, facility systems, and support equipment. Working under the general direction of the Maintenance Lead, this position supports equipment reliability, production uptime, safety, and quality objectives by diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems. The Maintenance Technician II is expected to work independently on routine maintenance assignments, participate in troubleshooting efforts, and support continuous improvement initiatives while developing advanced technical skills required for progression to a Maintenance Lead role.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical equipment under normal operating conditions.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions to minimize downtime and restore operations.
- Perform equipment inspections, adjustments, lubrication, alignment, calibration, and component replacement activities.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, work orders, equipment drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, electrical test equipment, and diagnostic instruments to perform maintenance tasks.
- Assist with installation, modification, relocation, and startup of production equipment and facility systems.
- Support maintenance projects, equipment rebuilds, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, preventative maintenance documentation, and parts usage records.
- Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and maintenance concerns to the Maintenance Lead and production personnel.
- Assist operators with minor equipment adjustments and troubleshooting activities.
- Monitor equipment condition and report recurring failures or reliability concerns.
- Maintain spare parts inventories and assist with identifying replacement part requirements.
- Participate in training activities to expand technical knowledge and maintenance capabilities.
- Support housekeeping and workplace organization efforts consistent with 5S/6S principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Knowledge
- Industrial maintenance practices and preventative maintenance principles.
- Mechanical systems including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, and conveyors.
- Electrical systems including motors, motor controls, sensors, relays, and basic industrial wiring.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing equipment.
- Basic PLC operation, ladder logic concepts, and industrial automation systems.
- Safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and OSHA regulations.
- Technical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
Skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Electrical troubleshooting using meters and diagnostic equipment.
- Basic hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.
- Preventative maintenance execution and documentation.
- Safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Root cause problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Computer skills sufficient to utilize maintenance management systems and work order software.

- Diagnose and resolve routine equipment failures with limited supervision.
- Prioritize maintenance activities in a production environment.

- Work effectively as part of a maintenance and operations team.
- Learn new equipment, technologies, and maintenance techniques.
- Safely perform physical maintenance activities including lifting, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing.
Minimum QualificationsEducation
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical, vocational, apprenticeship, military technical training, or industrial maintenance coursework preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production, processing, or industrial environment.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment required.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, motor control, or PLC systems preferred.
Certifications
- Valid driver's license if required for company operations.
- OSHA, NCCER, industrial maintenance certifications, or equivalent technical credentials preferred.
Environmental, Health, and Safety Requirements
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify, report, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions and equipment hazards.
- Safely operate maintenance tools, testing equipment, and machinery.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with housekeeping and 5S/6S standards.
- Work in industrial manufacturing environments with exposure to moving machinery, electrical systems, noise, dust, heat, vibration, and varying temperatures.
Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
