Why this Role Matters
This role plays an important part in the Luxembourg Metrology organization at Goodyear, supporting the chemical and forensic analysis of rubber products, compounds, polymers, and other materials. By providing accurate and reliable analytical data, it helps product development, manufacturing operations, and quality assurance meet performance and safety standards. The role also fosters collaboration across product and production teams to define performance targets, while contributing to programs that strengthen Goodyear’s competitive advantage in tire performance and cost efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Support laboratory operations by preparing samples carefully and following established procedures
Perform laboratory tests using standardized and non-standardized methods, including thermal analysis, chromatography, and wet-chemical techniques
Ensure test results for raw materials and in-process products are accurate and reliable, while consistently following safety and quality protocols
Conduct basic data analysis to validate outcomes and document any deviations or anomalies clearly
Assist with maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to support consistent and optimal performance
What you’ll bring
Educational background: Required BTS in Laboratory Technology or Applied Sciences; preferred BS in Laboratory Technology, Physics, Chemistry, or a related scientific field, ideally with relevant laboratory experience
2–3 years of practical experience in chemical analysis within a laboratory environment
Proficiency operating laboratory instruments, including spectroscopic (IR), thermal (TGA), and wet chemical analysis techniques (solubility, pH tests, titration, gravimetric analysis); experience with GC, HPLC, or GPC is an asset
Experience in, or willingness to learn, diverse sample isolation and preparation procedures following established laboratory protocols
Solid knowledge of chemistry and chemical analysis techniques, with the ability to follow laboratory procedures and safety standards
Strong attention to detail and reliability in documenting results
Collaborative approach with effective communication in English, and the ability to work well as part of a team
