About Goodyear

We’re dedicated to producing, innovating, and servicing the best tires in the world. For over 125 years, Goodyear has led the way in developing smart solutions that shape the future of mobility. Today, we’re one global team united by bold thinking, relentless drive, and a passion to exceed expectations. If you’re ready to embrace change and make an impact in your career, let’s go.

Why this Role Matters
The analytical chemist contributes to the Luxembourg Metrology organization by delivering reliable and accurate analytical data that supports product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance. By performing testing and building expertise across chromatographic, spectroscopic, thermal, and wet chemical techniques, the role ensures high-quality results while connecting routine laboratory operations with early-stage method development. Contributions to documentation, equipment maintenance, and cross-functional communication further support the organization’s commitment to strict safety and quality standards, reinforcing confidence in data and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute routine and semi-routine analytical tests using thermal analysis (TGA, DSC), spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman), combustion-based elemental analysis, and porosity measurements

  • Ensure accurate, repeatable, and safe operation of laboratory instruments while managing priorities effectively

  • Prepare and isolate samples following established methods and safety standards

  • Apply established analytical methods and contribute to incremental improvements under senior guidance

  • Assist in maintaining and updating methods’ documentation and records

  • Perform basic data analysis, validate results, identify anomalies, and document findings clearly

  • Support knowledge retention through structured documentation and record keeping

  • Participate in routine calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of analytical equipment

  • Collaborate with internal teams to meet analytical needs and communicate testing progress efficiently

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Polymer/Materials Science, Physics, or a related field (with 3–5 years of relevant experience); or BTS/Associate degree plus directly relevant experience; or a Master’s degree

  • Experience operating and maintaining instruments such as TGA, DSC, FTIR, Raman, combustion-based elemental analyzers, and porosity analysis instruments; experience with GC, HPLC, or GPC is an asset

  • Familiarity with sample preparation workflows, standard laboratory documentation practices, and laboratory data management systems

  • Solid foundation in analytical chemistry principles and laboratory safety, with the ability to follow SOPs precisely

  • Developing proficiency in thermal analysis techniques, with basic interpretation of spectroscopic data and exposure to elemental analysis and porosimetry methods

  • Strong attention to detail, with reliable record keeping and clear technical report writing

  • Collaborative approach with effective communication across functions in an international environment, self-motivated, organized, curious, and methodical in problem-solving.

We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Even if you don’t meet every listed qualification, we encourage you to apply.
