This position must be willing to work either shift. 2-2-3 schedule straight days, straight nights, or swing shift

Salary: $20.76

Receives, identifies, stores, and dispenses parts, equipment, and tools in support of plant operations. Maintains inventory records and stock levels while ensuring the security of the Central Stores and Tool Room. Responsible for preserving inventory accuracy, supporting material availability, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow directions from the Central Stores Manager and adhere to standard operating procedures, plant policies, and applicable specifications
  • Receive incoming parts, equipment, and materials; verify quantities and accuracy against shipping documentation
  • Identify, count, record, and store inventory items in designated locations
  • Process and forward receiving documentation to Purchasing and Accounts Payable departments
  • Respond to verbal and written requisitions and distribute inventory items to employees and departments as needed
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory record.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify shortages, verify stock counts, prepare replenishment requests, and issue tools to employees based on verbal or written requests
  • Maintain accurate records of tool assignments, including employee number, department, account charges, date, and time issued
  • Ensure work areas and storage locations remain safe, clean, organized, and efficient

Qualifications

  • One-year previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, stockroom operations, or parts management
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition and subtraction
  • Ability to interpret purchase orders, bills of lading, inventory records, and requisition forms.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to accurately identify parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to learn and utilize computerized inventory management systems, data entry applications, and inventory retrieval processes
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when supporting plant personnel
