Job Description

TITLE: Interventionist

JOB GOALS:

  • To support the delivery of Lee County Schools District written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
  • To ensure the reflection and communication of a positive image and attitude toward decisions and functions of the district as they relate to the public, staff, parents, and students.
  • To assist the classroom teacher in meeting the needs of students.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Is highly qualified (AA degree or 48 college hours from an accredited college or
passed the ACT Work Keys Test).
  1. Has knowledge of curriculum frameworks.
  2. Has knowledge of reading, writing/literacy development.
  3. Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication.
  4. Displays ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents and the public.
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Building principal or designee.

PERFORMANCE RESPONBILITIES under the supervision of a certified teacher::
  1. Participates in district and school professional development.
  2. Works directly with students, reinforcing skills previously taught by teacher.
  3. Participate in analysis and interpretation of data to monitor student progress.
  4. Comply with district policies and procedures.
  5. Attends multi-sensory phonics training.
  6. Provides group instruction as prescribed by certified teachers.
  7. Provides individualized instruction.
  8. Demonstrates various instructional strategies.
  9. Monitors work assigned by teacher.
  10. Checks and corrects student’s work while in progress.
  11. Keeps students on task.
  12. Praises and reinforces achievement of students.
  13. Reports student progress to teacher.
  14. Maintains high standards, ethical behavior and confidentiality of student issues.
  15. Exemplifies strong work ethics and professionalism (i.e promptness, attendance and professional dress).

OTHER DUTIES:
Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The salary and length of contract shall be established by the Board of Education.
