Job Description
TITLE: Interventionist
JOB GOALS:
- To support the delivery of Lee County Schools District written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
- To ensure the reflection and communication of a positive image and attitude toward decisions and functions of the district as they relate to the public, staff, parents, and students.
- To assist the classroom teacher in meeting the needs of students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Is highly qualified (AA degree or 48 college hours from an accredited college or
- Has knowledge of curriculum frameworks.
- Has knowledge of reading, writing/literacy development.
- Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Displays ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents and the public.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Building principal or designee.
PERFORMANCE RESPONBILITIES under the supervision of a certified teacher::
- Participates in district and school professional development.
- Works directly with students, reinforcing skills previously taught by teacher.
- Participate in analysis and interpretation of data to monitor student progress.
- Comply with district policies and procedures.
- Attends multi-sensory phonics training.
- Provides group instruction as prescribed by certified teachers.
- Provides individualized instruction.
- Demonstrates various instructional strategies.
- Monitors work assigned by teacher.
- Checks and corrects student’s work while in progress.
- Keeps students on task.
- Praises and reinforces achievement of students.
- Reports student progress to teacher.
- Maintains high standards, ethical behavior and confidentiality of student issues.
- Exemplifies strong work ethics and professionalism (i.e promptness, attendance and professional dress).
